Katya Sabel

Katya Savel (Russian-American, b.1993) is an artist whose work centers on the body as a ground for questioning human experience, memory, and the nature of reality. Her practice negotiates universal phenomena of bodily discomfort, dysmorphia, and the sensation of being a soul confined within flesh. Employing both analog and digital media, Savel constructs portals for the body to morph, mutate, and subvert fixed notions of identity. Her recent works delve into the feminine and spiritual dimensions of technology, challenging boundaries between human, nature, and machine. She investigates language as a structural force in human perception, envisioning linguistic evolution as a path toward alternative realities. Savel holds a B.F.A. in Fine Arts and a B.A. in History of Art from Cornell University. Her works span sculpture, installation, video, new media, and performance and have been featured in international exhibitions and digital platforms.
